I have worked in the retirement industry for a very long time, and what I hear so often from my clients is that the thought of downsizing is too overwhelming to make the move to retirement living.  It’s often their only hesitation. I can’t imagine the task of moving from a family home after decades of living there to a retirement home, especially if you are someone that doesn’t have family close by.

Recently, I have been working with a small local business comprised of two sisters who have embraced this very task.  They make the transition seamless.  Suzanne & Charlene Guild have worked with several of our clients. They take the stress of the transition away. They assist with planning, packing, downsizing, cleaning, co ordinating the move and even setting up and unpacking their new home.  Their attention to detail is incredible. I wanted to feature Stepping Stones this week because they have made such a difference in the lives of our residents. It’s so lovely to be part of a community where businesses can work together to support our seniors.

The benefits of retirement living are endless, and sometimes people just need additional support to make the decision to move.
