Royal Jubilee: Fine Dining in Regal Elegance

Last night, Royal Brock Retirement Living was transported into a realm of regal elegance at this month’s “Royal Jubilee” fine dining event. By royal decree, the dining room was adorned to the highest standards, evoking the splendor of a royal palace. Residents wore crowns and the room glowed in royal and gold, complemented by beautiful hydrangeas on each table.

The dining room was fit for royalty, setting the stage for a memorable meal with Princess Cinderella as our esteemed guest. The evening began with an appetizer fit for royalty. “Pigs in a Blanket” delighted our palates—baked bite-sized sausages wrapped in flaky puff pastry, accompanied by zesty Dijon mustard that added a royal flair to each savory bite.

For the main course, we were presented with two equally enticing options. The “Traditional Sunday Roast with Yorkshire Pudding and gravy” was a triumph—a slow-cooked roast beef, tenderly cut to order, served alongside rich gravy and Yorkshire pudding that would make any monarch proud. Alternatively, the “Chicken Shepherd’s Pie” offered a comforting twist—tender chicken simmered in a savory cream sauce, topped with creamy mashed potatoes and drizzled with gravy fit for the king or queen of the castle.

Accompaniments worthy of royalty graced our plates—a velvety whipped Yukon Gold mashed potatoes and roasted carrots and parsnips roasted to perfection.

As the evening drew to a sweet conclusion, dessert arrived in the form of “Lemon Blueberry Coffee Cake.” This tart yet sweet delight featured blueberries baked into a lemon zest-infused coffee cake batter, adorned with fresh blueberries and a dollop of whipped cream fit for a monarch’s palate.

After dinner, we enjoyed entertainment by none other than “Sir Mark of the Round Lasso,” our beloved Cowboy with a royal twist.

Each resident felt like royalty, savoring the finest food and company fit for kings and queens. A heartfelt thank you goes to Heather H for adroning our crowns, our culinary team, dietary servers, and wellness staff.

Here’s to another Royal gathering next month!
