Fine Dining Celebrating 7 Years of The Royal Suites

There’s something special about gathering around a beautifully set table, sharing an incredible meal, and spending an evening in the company of friends. At Royal Brock Retirement Living, our Fine Dining evenings have become much more than a special menu — they’re a tradition our residents and team truly look forward to.

Life is full of moments worth celebrating, both big and small. We believe those moments continue to matter at every stage of life. Whether we’re marking a milestone, celebrating a season, or simply creating an occasion to dress up and enjoy an evening together, our Fine Dining events give our community a chance to slow down, connect, laugh, and make new memories.

Our most recent Fine Dining evening was especially meaningful as we celebrated the seven-year anniversary of The Royal Suites. It was wonderful to recognize this milestone surrounded by the people who have helped make our Royal Brock and Royal Suites communities what they are today.

Of course, no great celebration is complete without really good food!

Our culinary team created a beautiful menu for the evening, beginning with house-made Garlic Rosemary Herb Focaccia, made with roasted garlic and fresh rosemary.

For the main course, residents could choose between Pot Roast with Demi Glace, featuring slow-cooked chuck roast with a rich demi-glace gravy, or Shrimp Scampi, with sautéed shrimp tossed in garlic butter, parsley and lemon and served over spaghetti noodles.

The entrées were accompanied by creamy Scalloped Potatoes and Braised Cabbage, sautéed and braised in white wine and chicken stock with thyme.

And for dessert, we celebrated something wonderfully local: Hall’s Apples Apple Pie, made with Spartan apples from Hall’s Orchard.

While delicious food is at the heart of Fine Dining, the experience is about so much more than what is on the plate. Shelley and Leighann absolutely outdid themselves with the décor, transforming the space into an elegant and welcoming setting. Every detail — from the tables to the finishing touches throughout the room — helped make the evening feel like an occasion.

We were also delighted to have Spencer Scharf provide live music for the evening, creating the perfect atmosphere as residents enjoyed dinner and one another’s company.

These evenings are a wonderful example of what community means to us at Royal Brock. A retirement residence is more than a place to live — it should be a place to belong. It should be filled with friendship, laughter, traditions, celebrations and experiences to look forward to.

Food has always had a special way of bringing people together. Some of our fondest memories are connected to a table — family dinners, holiday meals, anniversaries, celebrations and recipes shared through generations. That doesn’t change as we get older. If anything, continuing to create those opportunities for connection and celebration becomes even more important.

That is why our Fine Dining evenings have become such a cherished tradition at Royal Brock. There is an excitement leading up to them: residents talk about the menu, the room is transformed, our team works together behind the scenes, and everyone knows that something special is coming.

We are incredibly grateful to our kitchen and dining teams for the thought, creativity and care they put into every course, to Shelley and Leighann for creating such a beautiful atmosphere, and to Spencer Scharf for sharing his musical talents with us.

Most of all, we are grateful for the residents who make these evenings — and Royal Brock itself — so special.

Here’s to seven years of The Royal Suites, to many more celebrations ahead, and to always finding a reason to gather around the table together.
