Meet Anne & Keith Empey

Anne and Keith moved into Royal Brock Retirement in July of last year.
Anne is a graduate of the BGH School of Nursing and was raised in Jasper, Ontario. Shae and Keith raised 3 children together.
Life was busy, and due to Keith’s career, they moved frequently. In facet, Royal Brock Retirement Living is their 20th address!
Keith grew up in Brockville and graduated from Queens University in Kingston. He began his career as an Electrical Engineer, and eventually pursued a career in Human Resources and Administration in the Federal Public Service. He recruited computer systems personnel for the Federal Public Service Commission, served as the Director of Administration at the Defense Research Establishment Suffield, in Alberta, and latterly, was employed as the Regional Director Civilian Personnel Administration, at DND’s Maritime Forces Pacific HQ in Victoria, BC.
When asked what drew them to Royal Brock Retirement, they told me they came to the open house and were very impressed with both the building itself, as well as with the staff. They describe the atmosphere as warm and inviting. “Everyone is so friendly” Anne said.
Keith talked about the gradual downsizing over the years. They eventually bought a condo, and then decided to move into Royal Brock Retirement. They used Gordons Estates Services to aid in the move. Gordons Estates offers real estate agents, decorators, movers and more.
When asked what they enjoy most about living here they said “The food is incredible!”
“That had been one of the biggest challenges at home. All of the shopping and food prep.” Says Anne. “Here, we have so much more time, and we don’t have to worry about those details anymore. It’s so nice getting to know people. We’ve made many friends. Everyone has a story, so many people who live here have lead such interesting lives. We recommend it to our friends all the time!”
Royal Brock Retirement is happy to offer complimentary lunch and tours to anyone who is interested in seeing what we have to offer.
