Candida has been with Royal Brock Retirement since June of this year.  She came to us through her clinical placement and we loved her so much, we kept her!

Originally from Mallorytown, Candida spent over a decade working as a supervisor with Burnbrae Farms.  Seven years ago, she changed her career and became a stay-at-home Grandma to 2 of her 4 grandchildren.  As they grew older and more independent, Candida decided a change was in order and enrolled in the PSW program with St. Lawrence College.  Her original wish was to work with Palliative Care patients as she had taken care of several relatives during their final days.  But once she came to do her placement at Royal Brock, we had her hooked!

She loves the chance to get to know the residents and to learn about them and their lives.  She takes every chance to make them laugh and to add something bright to everyone’s day.  Her philosophy is that our residents have each taken care of others and given of themselves during their lives, it is now our turn to do the same for them.

Candida has a bright and calm personality.  She is always quick with a smile and a laugh and does not hesitate to jump in and help out in any department.  She not only works as a PSW, but does shifts in Dietary.  She fits in wonderfully with our friendly and caring Royal Brock family.
