Meet Jessica, Activity Director

Jessica was born in Cornwall Ontario and moved to Brockville when she was very young. After finishing high school she moved to London Ontario. She spent five years in the area before returning home to Brockville. Jessica is a graduate of St. Lawrence College and began her career as a PSW in a long-term care facility.
She came to Royal Brock when the building first opened. “ The food here is incredible! Every time there is something new on the menu I just have to try it!” says Jessica, when asked what the best part of working at Royal Brock Retirement is.
Jessica has a 5 year-old daughter, Jayla, who looks forward to spending time with the residents at Royal Brock Retirement. All of her free time is spent with family and friends and playing baseball or going to Michaels to find inspiration for the many craft projects she has on the go.
Jessica has always been eager to make people laugh and feel welcome. When the lifestyles aide position became available she was excited to accept the new role! She says she enjoys this change so much because she enjoys spending time entertaining residents. The change of pace allows her to slow down, listen, and make every resident feel acknowledged, and valued. Every day she looks forward to creating events based on resident feedback so that even residents who are here for a short convalescent stay can partake.
Jessica brings so much positivity to the building. She is very organized and always strives to make every activity even better. Whether it’s introducing blue lagoon to the pub menu, baking special treats for armchair travel, or adding her own flair to bingo, she’s always focussed on the residents. Her best feature is her smile and she’s never seen without it.
